Healthy Freaks?

Our kitchen counter is being flooded with all these new nutritious choices for the fridge. Mr. Lee and me are doing this new diet thing, well it's not that we're trying to lose weigh or anything. We just simply want to be healthier when it comes to our food choices, exercise more and save money on going out to eat. The average American couple/household eat out several times per week, simply because we're too busy/lazy/tired from the day to cook. Here are a few reasons that I think cooking or trying to make your own food is way better than eating out:

  • Your food will definitely taste better. If you are not a proud chef (because trust me... I've had my fair share of burning recipes) there are many websites/books to help you out (cookingchanneltv.comfoodnetwork.com, etc). Or just remember, Salt n Pepper are your best tastebuds.
  • Eating healthier choices that are packed with proteins, vitamins, and oils will definitely improve your  daily energy and help you lead an active life.
  • You won't feel as bloated or look as bloated from food that is overcrowded with sodium. Being a woman, I know that uncomfortable feeling when you can't fit in your jeans, or your shirts feel too tight, therefore eating leafy greens, whole grains, or natural fruits will definitely help preventing that.
  • Your bank account will thank you because you'll save about $2800 per year from withstanding going out to eat. And that doesn't even cover the money you spend on breakfast/lunch when you're working. Mr. Lee and I spend at least about $10-$15/day for breakfast/lunch because we've never brought our own meals, that makes about $10500 per year. WOW!
  • It is important to eat healthy foods and to avoid foods with high saturated and trans fats in order to lose excess fat in the abdominal and thigh areas.
  • It is also easier to prevent calorie intake then to work it off later on. You will have to work out 3x times as hard just to get rid of that little, so-called innocent hamburger you just had.
  • The less processed your food is, the preferable.
  • Diabetes, obesity, depressions, hair-loss, memory-loss will not look good on you. Eating bad food daily is the bridge to all of those. Exercise at least 3-4 times a week, even if it's only about half an hour per time. Being active helps putting your body in shape and alert.

Well, these are just a few. I could go on and on and on. I understand that you make your own choice when it comes to your lifestyle but just a slight change in your daily diet could do you so much good, help you out so much. You will slowly but surely see the changes in your body, mentally and physically. From eating healthier food, you will certainly be more happy. Remember, you are what you eat, so why not eat the best food Mother Nature has to offer?
